Dems Reject Merit Pay
The Democratic Presidential candidates came out against merit pay at last night’s debate and called for an overhaul of NCLB.

It seems as though the democratic presidential candidates are finally catching up with educators and the public on No Child Left Behind. See the “Debate Dial-0-Meter” used by Rich Thau of Presentation Testing Inc. in the living rooms of democratic voters in Iowa and New Hamphire.

I would imagine that if I were a parent receiving NCLB test scores indicating that my child were Basic, Below Basic, or Far Below Basic, that I would be disgusted by it too. To my way of thinking, those terms are just bit too reptilian. If I were to get that type of message about my child year after year, I think I’d probably register to vote. And I’d vote on that issue.
