Well Then, This Should Be A Breeze

In a survey released today by Educational Testing Service, a majority of the Americans polled think the federal No Child Left Behind law should be reauthorized, but with major changes, when Congress rewrites it this summer.

They also:
* Agree with teachers and administrators that lack of parental involvement is the biggest problem facing schools today. (They think inadequate funding is a close second.)
* Want funding increased for schools that fall short of meeting annual academic targets. (For those keeping track, it was 57 percent of the general public who said that, and 72 percent of teachers who said as much in the poll.)

The folks in Congress were sent there by the American people. And the American public has just raised its voice yet again on NCLB. So making the necessary changes and reauthorizing the law this summer shouldn’t be a problem for legislators, right?
