Must-see TV
Here’s what I’m TiVoing tonight. South Carolina teachers will also be tuning in to see if they get a shout-out. The South Carolina Education Association just launched a statewide radio advertising campaign to get the Democratic presidential candidates to move education to the top of the domestic agenda.
“The Democratic candidates for President owe it to all of us to lay out their vision for public education,” said SCEA President Sheila Gallagher, “and to make clear where they stand on changing the failed federal No Child Left Behind law that forces teachers to teach to a federally mandated test instead of teaching to the student.
Let’s hope the candidates have the radio on while they’re heading into Orangeburg.
